Mallory Samson
Mallory Samson joins Carpe Diem Global Partners as an Advisory Board member bringing nearly three decades of go-to-market, strategy and operational leadership from the world’s largest executive search firms. Throughout her career, Mallory has built the infrastructure that makes search firms run at scale — spanning roles in research and knowledge management, chief of staff leadership, practice operations, business development, and enterprise-wide strategy — giving her a rare, inside-out view of nearly every function the business has to offer.
Most recently serving as Senior Director of Business Strategy and Operations at Korn Ferry,. Prior to Korn Ferry, Mallory led Practice Operations for the Global Consumer Sector at Russell Reynolds Associates, and held leadership roles at Heidrick & Struggles and Egon Zehnder International. In each of her roles, Mallory has demonstrated expertise in building KPI frameworks, operating models, and knowledge systems that give leadership real-time visibility into performance and turn strong ideas into repeatable, scalable growth engines.
Mallory’s operational rigor and firsthand knowledge of the search industry’s inner workings will be instrumental in supporting Carpe Diem’s continued growth through disruptive innovation. With her deep expertise in governance, KPI infrastructure, and cross-functional execution, Mallory’s experience is an ideal fit for strengthening the firm’s operating foundation as it scales to serve clients on their most complex leadership initiatives from board to C-suite.
“We are excited to welcome Mallory to the Carpe Diem Board of Advisors,” said Jeff DeFazio, Managing Partner and Founder. “Mallory has quite literally strengthened the operational backbone of the world’s largest search firms, and that rare, inside-out perspective will be invaluable as we continue to scale our proprietary innovations and deepen our impact with clients. We are in the process of building a world-class Board of Advisors, and Mallory is an ideal fit for the firm’s Board,” added DeFazio.
“I’m truly excited to be joining the Board of Advisors at Carpe Diem Global Partners. There’s something special about the opportunity to lend guidance to such a prestigious group of former operators within a firm that still has the ambition, track record and agility to innovate, and grow into something even bigger — that combination is what drew me in. After nearly thirty years learning how strong organizations are built from the inside out, I’m eager to bring that perspective to the table and support the team’s continued growth from an advisory standpoint. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey.”
Beyond her operational leadership, Mallory is a published thought leader whose work includes “The Emergence of the Chief Growth Officer in Consumer Packaged Goods” and “Inside the Mind of the CMO: Strong Personalities Confront the Growth Challenge.” Her CFO turnover analysis, developed while at Heidrick & Struggles, was featured in the Wall Street Journal..
Mallory holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Texas State University.
