Pete Thompson, a veteran technology and consumer products executive with more than 25 years of P&L, product, and board leadership experience, has joined the firm as a member of the Advisory Board.

Pete Thompson joins Carpe Diem Global Partners as an Advisory Board member bringing decades of experience growing global multibillion-dollar businesses across online marketplaces, connected devices, and consumer technology. Throughout his career, Pete has driven shareholder value at a range of Fortune 100 companies through product innovation, operational scale, and M&A, while building an extensive track record of public and private board service.

Throughout his career, Pete has driven shareholder value at a range of Fortune 100 companies through product innovation, operational scale, and M&A, while building an extensive track record of public and private board service.
Pete currently serves as an independent non-executive director on the boards of Paysafe and TomTom, and as Senior Partner and Chief Product Officer at CMO Consulting Group. Previously, he served as SVP and Chief Product Officer at eBay, where he led product, engineering, UX, and analytics across the buyer and seller experience and managed more than 4,000 global employees, and as Vice President of Alexa Voice Services at Amazon, where he built and scaled Amazon’s third-party voice platform. Earlier in his career, Pete held senior leadership roles at Microsoft — including General Manager of Xbox LIVE Marketplace and General Manager of Microsoft Surface — as well as executive positions at TiVo, Ericsson, Sonos, and T-Mobile. He has also served on the boards of Cadent, Sigma Designs, and The E.W. Scripps Company.
Pete’s broad functional expertise in product strategy, technology, and board governance is an ideal complement to Carpe Diem’s clients. His experience scaling consumer and marketplace businesses, along with his extensive public and private board service, will support Carpe Diem as it advises clients on leadership, innovation, and growth at the highest levels.

Pete actively invests in and advises various AI start-ups, including serving as a Senior Advisor for the 25Madison Evolve B2B AI incubator.
Pete holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Economics from UCLA, a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and completed executive education in Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy at MIT Sloan.
