Carpe Diem Partners announced today it is donating to two organizations at the forefront of the Covid-19 fight: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund and Alameda Food Bank. The donations, which total $10,000, will go toward caregivers supporting public health during the coronavirus pandemic and children without replacement for school lunches.

“It is inspiring to see the selflessness and courage of those on the frontlines of this unprecedented health crisis,” said Carpe Diem Global Partners Founder and Managing Partner Jeff DeFazio. “We are honored to partner with these organizations and support their efforts to ensure those most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic receive everything they need to remain healthy and safe.” The Alameda Food Bank is one of the largest, most effective and well-run food oriented nonprofits we know about actively providing school lunches. “We wanted to assist the most vulnerable, families and children.”

Furthermore today, the managing partners unanimously agreed to donate another $2,000 to a charity on every new engagement received throughout the US Covid 19 pandemic. Words can’t properly describe the depth of gratitude the firm has for the overwhelming client support we have received since starting the firm. We are in a position to help and feel its our duty to do so.

CDC Foundation Emergency Response Fund CDC Foundation
The CDC Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund is used to meet fast-emerging needs in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) COVID-19 pandemic response. Carpe Diem Partners’ donation will help address critical needs such as providing personal protective equipment for first responders and other healthcare workers; facilitating the distribution of medical supplies to health departments and non-profits; and supporting public health laboratories in the purchase of lab equipment and the development of testing workflows.

Alameda Food BankAlameda Food Bank
Alameda Food Bank is committed to providing nutritious food to those in need in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Business closures and layoffs have led to a spike in clients on the island, and the bank saw the number of people needing assistance each week nearly double during the first week of sheltering in place. Carpe Diem Partners’ donation will go directly to helping the non-profit organization purchase more food to meet this increased need.

“Alameda Food Bank has provided vital assistance to residents of the City of Alameda for more than 40 years,” DeFazio said. “We feel privileged to join them in aiding this Bay Area community during this challenging time.”
